First Communion

First Communion is a 2 year preparation Sacrament. For 1st Communion the first year starts in 2nd grade with Reconciliation and the second year of preparation ends in 3rd grade with First Communion. If a child has not attended the first year of preparation for 1st Communion, they will be placed in the first year class for that specific Sacrament. It is MANDATORY for a student to complete BOTH years of preparation in order to receive these Sacraments.  Please bring a copy of your child’s Baptism record. If your child was baptized here at Sacred Heart, we will have that information on file. If your child has not been baptized, please call the parish office for direction as there are special classes for your child to attend depending on their current age.
